South Asian family counselling

For families where everyone is trying their best and it still is not working. Sessions make room for each generation without asking anyone to abandon their values.

Online in Alberta, Ontario and BC; in person in Edmonton. Sessions take place online, subject to applicable professional and regulatory requirements.

What families bring

Often the argument on the surface is not the real one.

  • Parents and adult children pulling in different directions
  • Teenagers navigating two sets of rules
  • In-law tension and boundaries in joint households
  • Decisions about marriage, education and money
  • Sponsored parents adjusting to life in Canada
  • Rebuilding trust after a long separation or reunification

Who attends

Sessions can include the whole family, one part of it, or start with a single member. Family work often begins with one person deciding something has to change.

Not sure where to start?

Not sure what kind of help you need?

That's completely okay. A social work consultation is a calm, no-pressure way to figure out what would actually help — and what resources already exist for you.
